Mummy Mark Bookmark Craft

Looking for an alternative to candy this Halloween? Create the Mummy Mark Bookmark and your children will not be disappointed. Made from white tissue paper, a Popsicle stick, wiggly eyes, and glue, children are sure to love making their very own mummy bookmark. Once complete, you can hand these out to trick-or-treaters, students, classmates, or even stick a magnet on the back and hang it on your refrigerator!

What you'll need:

  • 1 popsicle stick
  • White tissue paper
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • 2 wiggly eyes
  • Tacky glue
  • Markers (optional)
How to make your Frankenstein candy jar:
  1. Using scissors, cut long, thin strips from the white tissue paper for the mummy wrappings. (see photos)
  2. With the paintbrush, spread glue along both sides of the Popsicle stick. Wrap the strips of white tissue paper around the Popsicle stick. Make sure to wrap the tissue paper in opposite directions so that it looks more like mummy wrappings. Continue wrapping until there is no glue showing. (see photos)
  3. Glue the wiggly eyes to the top of the Popsicle stick as the eyes of the mummy. Let your bookmark dry completely. (see photos)
  4. Using a black marker, write “Happy Halloween,” your name, or anything else you desire. (see photos)
  5. Your mummy is now ready to use as a bookmark! Grab a favorite book, start reading, and never worry about losing your place again!
