Dalmatian Puppet Craft

Fire safety is an important theme for children to learn about. This fire safety dog puppet craft is a fun project during this time. Using the templates provided, children create a dog face and a fire hat. These are glued to a white paper lunch bag to create a puppet. Google eyes and black button spots are glued on to complete the project.

What you'll need:

  • Small white paper lunch bag
  • Templates of hat and face
  • Black buttons
  • Two google eyes
  • Red construction paper
  • White construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Small piece of yellow construction paper
  • Black crayon
  • Black marker
  • Fire hat template
  • Dalmatian face template
How to make your dalmatian puppet craft:
  1. Print the Sparky the Dalmatian Bowl Craft template onto white cardstock. Cut out the ears. (see photos)
  2. Using the black crayon, trace the dog face template onto the white paper and cut it out. Color the ears black and draw a small mouth and circle on the face as shown. Glue to the top of the bag.
  3. Using the black marker, trace the fire hat onto the red construction paper, cut out and draw some details on the hat as shown. Glue to the top of the dog�s face.
  4. Trace the template of the small shield onto the yellow paper and cut it out. Write a number on the shield and glue to the middle of the hat.
  5. Glue the two google eyes onto the face,making sure one is inside of the circle.
  6. Cut a small tongue from the red paper and glue over the mouth.
  7. Glue a button over the tongue and then more buttons all over the bottom of the bag for some spots.
