Handprint Sun Craft

This handprint craft for kids is a fun way to create a sun for summer! Simply dip your child's hand in yellow paint and make a ring of handprints on a paper plate. Their fingers become the sun's rays! Add a simple face to this cute summer craft and hang it on a window to decorate your room for summer. What you'll need:

  • Paper plate
  • Yellow paint
  • Black marker or crayon
  • Paint brush
How to make your handprint sun craft:
  • Paint your child's hand yellow. We find that when doing handprint crafts that they turn out better if you put the paint on with a brush rather than dipping the child's hand in the paint.
  • Press your child's hand onto the paper plate so that their palm is in the center of the plate with their fingers reaching to the outer edge.
  • Repeat this process until you have a ring of finger prints all around the plate. Make sure to overlap the palms!
  • Use the marker or crayon to draw on the sun's face. You could even add sunglasses!
